What We’re Working On
East Bay lands are interconnected. Our shared projects enable us to coordinate stewardship activities that address our region’s challenges on a landscape scale.
Some of our work to date includes ecological health assessments, mapping, wildlife protection, and the development of best practices recommendations.
NatureCheck
The first ecological health assessment of its kind for the East Bay region, the NatureCheck report is a science-based, landscape-scale assessment of the ecological health of native wildlife and plant communities within East Bay Stewardship Network partner agency lands.
Fine Scale Vegetation Mapping
This project produced separate fine–scale vegetation and grassland maps for portions of our lands and includes various GIS layers available to the public to download. For more details see:
Wildlife Crossings
The East Bay Wildlife Connectivity Project will site and design three new wildlife crossing structures that link critical habitats across Alameda County’s highways, ensuring ecological resilience while reducing risks for both wildlife and motorists. (led by Courtney Coon, ACRCD)
Integrated Wild Pig Management Plan
EBSN partners are developing a coordinated wild pig management plan to protect watershed, vegetation, and wildlife health.
Sudden Oak Death Prevention
EBSN partners are working on developing recommendations to prevent Sudden Oak Death.
