The East Bay Hills Subregion encompasses the North-, Middle-, and South East Bay Hills Conservation Lands Network units. This subregion extends from the mouth of the Delta in Martinez and San Pablo south along the East Bay Hills to Fremont. The region includes woodlands, stands dominated by non-native eucalyptus, creeks and reservoirs, grasslands, chaparral and shrublands, and urban areas. The subregion is adjacent to the highest density human population centers in the Area of Focus.
